Pets and Point of View 35mm

It was not hard to take a picture of my pet, seeing
(if you looking closely) it is a lazy little lizard. If this picture showed up nice I'd be proud of the details, but sadly it is too dark.

The angle is interesting because I took this picture from above and she looked up at the camera, so it makes her body less proportionate than if it was a straight view picture.

Double Exposure Print

I never got to experience developing a double exposure print. I am hoping I have a new opportunity soon. :)

Architecture

My picture could be used to describe and tell the back story of the gothic architecture used for Catholic Church, which is shown in this picture.

Reflections and Close-Ups

I captured my reflection by taking a picture on a building view mirror.

I had no trouble capturing the photo and the background has lots of bokeh, which I really like because it helps focus on the subject. My favorite part of closeups are bokeh.

Photoshop: Background Change and Blemish Removal

I liked learning how to change the background because its nice to have the ability, but i would much rather use the original background and edit other concepts of the picture.

It was very useful to learn how to remove blemishes because if you want to perfect a picture, it helps to have clear skin.

Ph1 - Scavenger Hunt and Studio Portrait

I preferred digital over film because you have the ability to use trail and error to create a satisfying image, whereas in film, its almost as if you have to be lucky to make a great image.

The background in this photo of the dry grass sets the time of day and creates beautiful contrast with the pale grass.

This portrait was my favorite because as Shiwa was just posing in all different ways she then struck this adorable pose and the lighting was just right.

Ph1 - Photoshop Experiments

The tools I used in photoshop to create this picture were: Masking tool, B&W tool, layers, and motion blur.
This photo expresses my love for music.

Ph1 - 35mm Light/Shadow and People

I composed this picture by having a low lighting and shooting from an interesting angle  so you can only see the subjects hands playing.

I composed this picture by having a studio light angled at one side of the subject so their shadow casts upon the wall next to her.

Ph1 - Panning - DSLR

I printed a panning picture with the shutter speed of 1/100.
This created a subtle blur in the background to show the motion in this picture.

Ph1 - Lighting - DSLR

I chose this picture because the lighting makes it so you don't know what you're looking at, which adds to the mystery of the photo and leaves it open to interpretation.

***(something wrong happened in the uploading process, but the background is supposed to be black)***

A#4 High Contrast

I think I successfully got high contrast out of both photos, they originally had decent contrast, but the enlarger settings did help bring out the lights and darks.
I like how my images turned out because it has really good contrast and my second photo has nice texture and some good shadows.

A#3 - Depth of Field Photos

Aperture: f/22

Aperture: f/2.8

The low aperture for the second photo made the shutter close really fast, only allowing the subject to be in focus and beautifully blurring the background.
The higher aperture in the first photo made the shutter slower, giving time for the whole image to come into focus, so you can see the subject and its surroundings clearly, it adds more unity to the picture.

Dodge and Burn- P1

In all honesty, I did not like dodging and burning and I saw no improvement in my photos. I would rather leave them natural.
I did not enjoy the process because it was difficult to understand and did not make my images better.
I would not use this process again, I do not like it.

To improve the original shot in this picture, I burned the tree to create better contrast in the image. I dodged for 3 seconds out of a 12 second period.

P1- Solarization

This picture is of the American flag hanging on our porch. I chose this picture because it had good lights and darks so I thought it would turn out nice for Solarization.
For the process, I decided to leave it in until you could see a majority of the image and then solarize it because it intensifies the picture.
I would use this for a final print if I needed a unique image with good contrast.
